Our Marine Science Database
By Everett (14), Karcher (12), and Jovie (10)
with assistance from Erinn & Robert (their parents)
We consider ourselves incredibly lucky to call the ocean our backyard and strive to be good stewards of such an incredible place. During the 2021-2022 school year, we studied various aspects of the sea, including marine biology, erosion, and conservation. We created this database with our own photos and research, and are excited to share it with you. Learn more about the ocean with us.
2025 Update: Everett is now in college, studying Marine Science at the University of Hawaiʻi Hilo. Karcher is an avid sailor and a certified sailing instructor. Jovie continues to create art inspired by her environment. Our hopes of gaining knowledge and making a difference remain.

We Would Love Your Feedback
This database was created as a year-long homeschooling project by three middle school children (ages 14, 12, and 10) and their parents, who are passionate about the ocean and learning all about it; however, we are not PhDs. The information presented is, to the best of our knowledge, accurate; however, we still have much to learn before we can claim expertise. Some of our slides are still under construction and need polishing; we hope to update those soon.
